This is the 30 Year Anniversary Party of the original release on EPIC Records. A live segment out of a 4th of July show at the Jukes’ spiritual home, the Stone Pony in Asbury Park. While the show itself lasted for, at least, twice as long as this record, it has been the first of only two occasions, where Johnny and the Jukes stuck to their setlist and played an album in it’s entire length and it’s original order. The only other occasion where this should happen, has been in October of the same year at the Paradiso in Amsterdam, Netherlands. That show has been broadcasted live on the web by the now defunct FabChannel. (A DVD video of that show still exists as various torrents.)
This record represents a great concept: A more than appropriate way to celebrate a milestone release in the band’s history and is a, of course, historic document itself.
